Phat Loot Thursday

Mal wieder ordentlich Epixe abgestaubt. Ok nichts davon ist lila … aber was solls.

Dinner for Ten

This year my Dad turned 60. My sister and I wanted to make a special present for the occasion. The first idea was a scanner for slides and photo negatives. My Dad has thousands of ‘dias’ collected from vacations of the last 40 years or so. Our idea was to start scanning some and give him a nice presentation. The good scanners turned out to be beyond our budget.

My sister had another idea. We could give him a birthday party. Cooking a dinner for 10 to 12 people is a lot of stress and my Mom would not want to do it anymore by herself. So we decided on that one, with us cooking and my mother sponsoring the ingredients. So there was a lot of planning and invitations and more planning and food shopping (most of that done by my sister and my mother due to my lack of time) and yesterday was the day.

Partytime

I might have more time to write on it or I might not. Friday we went to Steffen’s party and stayed too long and Saturday was my own. At least I managed to go to sleep early yesterday. Decadence

Yesterday we went to Willi’s Decadence Party for his birthday. While both Rolland and I were a bit skeptical about the motto as well as the ‘roleplaying’ type game to be enacted there, I still dressed up with all the glitter I could muster.

New Year’s Eve Party

This year we hosted the Silvester Party again. It was fun. We had about 20 guests under the motto “La Familia” (did I say Godfather?) with a Django Reinhardt soundtrack and lots of guns ;-)

It took us three days to prepare everything – from shopping to cooking and ‘decorating’. Well decorating included mostly placing the food on a table and getting the drinks where people would notice.
